Sunita is 10 years old, in Class Two, and is thankful for NCF volunteers who visit and stay as guests at the hostel. She is very eager to learn, and though at times she is shy and hesitant, she will always try something new. When she is doing something she really likes in class, she will zero in and focus, usually losing herself in the activity. The girls in her class love to interact with her.
She has been at the hostel for eight months. She has two older brothers and one older sister. Her father is a widower and never remarried. He supports the family by farming for a living.
Sunita’s favorite color is green, her favorite animal is a sheep because they provide wool and milk, and her favorite activities are reading and writing. When she grows up she wants to be an English teacher. English is her favorite subject because it is a very important language. She does not like Science because she finds it very hard. Her favorite teacher is Raj Bahadur Bhandari, her Math teacher.
Sunita likes the hostel because she has a lot of friends, but would suggest improvements such as providing more seasonal clothes, books, textbooks, computers, shoes, and sweaters. She would like to learn more Health, Science, Math, and English grammar lessons from volunteers when they visit.
